I meant to relearn how to align analog tapes, since its been about 5 years from when I used them constantly. Here I have very little test equipment so I had to look back over theory, about +4, dBU, dBv, dBV ( yes there is a difference), dBM o dB, oVU, etc... ad nauseum
killin my brain, amazing what you can forget when you turn away for a sec, kinda like stopping practicing guitar for a few years
+3 MRL tape over 0VU but 0VU is +4 ackk!!!!
add to it trying to measure with only a voltmeter, then remembering all the funny different ways manufacturers handle balanced to unbalanced...some of them measure correctly with just + and ground
some need - tied to gnd to read right and some just wont read right, but 6dB down, and some just dont measure right ever...bogus
