Hey there!

I have been writing beats/music with a Roland xp80 and Cakewalk for about a year now. I want to get in to sampling and sound design for my music. Would love ANY advice/opinions on equipment and or software that could expand my creative horizons! Thanks so much!

How much money can you spend?

I dunno. Hadn't really put myself on a budget yet. I guess I'd like recommendations for both cheap and pricey. Thanks!

Well, Yamaha Motif or Korg Triton.

If you have a good computer (i.e. lots of horsepower) check out Reason by Propellerhead.

I love the Kurzweil K series. They do sample playback and there is a sampler add on module available for doing your own samples.

You can spend anywhere from 1-3K depending on model and condition if used.
