I kind of got pressured into buying this amp, and want to hear a third opinion of it. I've just tryed a few different amps at a local guitar center and this is what I ended up with.

Q 1) What are your opinions of the Fender Bassman 200?

Q 2) How much do you think I could get for it if I sold it?

Q 3) Do you think this would work as a good studio amp or is there something better out there?

Thanks

Isn't that the one with 1 fifteen? I thinks it's alright for some small gigs but, I think some of the other questions you're asking would require us to know what guitar you're using.

Used you can probably $400-600. $600 if you butter it up.

Man, I think it would be fine for studio stuff for the time being. I guess if you're not using a bunch of effects and playing alt-rock/rock or something like that you'd be good for gigs. I used to sell those at the store where I worked. They can be noisey when you use some instruments and when you turn them up you may experience clipping. Your jazz bass will cancel noise so, I would think it sounds pretty good.

I would say always jack with the EQ and room enhancement feature wherever you go. It will sound different everywhere. And never turn up the bass on the EQ more than a little bit(I think it sound awful).

What do you want in an amplifier? How were you pressured?

My bass player needed a bass amp and had no money. So if I wanted us to be able to play shows I had to buy the amp. He was slowly paying me back, but then I ended up keeping it for $500. I got it for $600 with a strap and cable after tax.

I also ended up buying his Mexican Jazz bass for $200. He was going to move to arizona and needed money.

I love my Fender Bassman 200. I use a 1963 Hofner through it. It has a 15" Eminence Speaker and a Foster Horn. It's great for small or large gigs and recording. I played a gig outside last year for 1,400 people. It delivered beautifully.
