First of all, thanks for clicking this link. After browsing through all this technologically smooth patter, I'm kinda awed. and pretty lost!
I'm trying to set up a simple (is that possible? is that oxymoronic?) recording studio or area for a choir and a few instruments - say, keyboard, guitar, etc. I'd like to use GarageBand 3 (iLife).
Theory-wise, I'm familiar with layering instruments and vocals, as I've had some of my songs recorded and mixed by an engineer. In real life, I'm a graphic designer, so I'm really comfortable with Macs. Beyond that, though, I'm pretty lost. Where do I start? What should I buy? What should I be reading to learn about what I should buy? I love this site on first sight (okay, bad pun), but...I'm drowning in a sea of info.
This is your chance to show off all your knowledge! If you have a second, I'd be super grateful!
Thanks,
Scotty
