I'm just getting started in digital recording. I have a Roland 1680 HD and i'm basically wanting to know the best type of reverb, compression and eq settings to use on an average male vocal. Also I would like to know the best eq to set on an electric and acoustic guitar. I'm also concerned on how to ad compression to my advantage on mixdown. If anyone can help me on these topics i would really appreciate it .

Questions like this have been asked in the past 30 days. Take a look at the forums for answers to your questions.

It is also impossible to answer such question becuase there are many factors to take into consideration like room acoustics, Guitar sound, Mic's etc....

I have writen several times this month and last, some average settings of Eq,Compression etc.. just check out topics,
If you can't find em I'll help you out

Yo Image of Broken One:

There is a Roland forum you can click into right here.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, your Roland has built-in FX; thus, like man, when you rehearse a cut or listen before you mix down, you can experiment with the patches the Roland has and decide what works best for the vocalist at hand.

I have an MD-8 which, of course, has no built-in FX; so, I use an Alesis midi-verb and a monster Ensonique DP-4; plus, you can, I'm sure, edit your reverb as I can do; thus, you can create, create, and discover.

Get in there and twiddle the dials,
