I really really like this. The background vocal is great, though I think there should be more, sorta like a chorus sound. I also love the hard panning of the two guitars and the tone is great, too!

Ido - much tidier without the competition for the centre.
The notes doubled in the solo are a bit strident - you'll need to manage them a bit whether by level or EQ I don't know.

Thanks Ray and CrowsofFritz - Mike will do some automation around the solo....

Wow! Great song!
Here is my constructive criticism. It's very general. You are a really good singer. In my opinion, this song would be better served by more emotion, less technical exactness in the vocal. I'd rather hear some mistakes, some growling, and more expression.
Nice work!--Jessica

This is a nice, warm mix. I like it. It's funny, when I first listened on my studio monitors, the guitar solo and the rhythm guitar seemed to be competing for the same spot in the stereo field, but I put on my headphones for the second listen, and the panning is clearly separating them when I listen in the cans, so I think it was just weirdness with my speaker setup.

The performances are good, and the vocals are nice, but yeah...I can see what Jessica is saying above, and I think that's good feedback, possibly for future vocal takes. Jessica, you wouldn't happen to be a vocal coach would you? :)

Best,

Dave DeWhitt

Thanks Ray, Jessica and Dave. My voice was not in ideal shape for this particular take and I was considering doing another recording someday to smooth it out a bit. Growling is not something I'm familiar with, I hate mistakes, and I'm more a mellow singer even for rock tunes. Don't think that will change really. But I can see your point and thanks for the listen and comments.
