I read the reviews and yorkville YSM-1's has very good feedbacks. However, it stated as a near-field monitor but I want to place it to listen music rather than monitor it.
What is the problem if i use it with an environment like 15'x10'?

I have a pair in my studio and also a pair in my entertainment center upstairs. I love 'em.

I have two sets as well. I use one set (along with a set of Truths) to monitor my recordings for my Tascam 2488. The other set I use in my family room connected to my entertainment centre (mostly used to watch TV). They are great all around speakers but placement is important .

I don"t know about the YSM-1"s but I have a Pair of YSM-2"s and they sound good as Monitors or for Listening to Music but they don"t have the sound you get from most Stereo speakers, they seems to sound Flatter than most stereo speakers......

Cheers

I listen to regular store bought music thru mine in addition to the Tracking and Mixing, "double duty" I guess you can call it.

Love 'em...

thx all for your nice reply.
I placed my YSM1p in a room size 10' x 15'
1. the speakers placed on the two corners of the one side
2. the sofa put at the end of the other side (in the middle of the wall)

I read some posts and stated that the room size mainly affect the low frequency wave.

So, should I use the switch of the yorkville (the LE efficiency factor) to -2db (as stated in the manual/picture at the back) or
+2db as to compensate the long listening range?
