Let us be unburdened by that which has been ?
Here's the lowdown of what $1200 gets me...

6 recessed lights in the room with a dimmer on their own breaker

4 quads and 2 dual outlets on two separate 20 amp breakers

New 90 amp breaker panel for the garage (which the room is an attached extension on the back of the detached garage) to replace the 1952 glass fuse boxes

Connect everything up existing in the garage and remove old boxes

Run new line for the irrigation pump, an outside light, and outside outlet

Not the cheapest thing in the world, but I think it's a good turnkey price for South Florida rates...my neighbor had them relocate his service recently and shopped rates. Besides, I don't know shit about electrical. It is definitely my area of weakness.

sounds like a good deal Seek, I know elec prices are much higher in my part of the country!

Ah, a good deal until I agreed to an outside light and an internal, hard-wired smoke detector. Now the price is $1,500, but I wanted (and Code requires the smoke detector) these things. Anyway, wiring looks great. Gave them $1,300 now and another $200 when they come to install the outlet guts and covers after I have drywall in. The ball is back in my court...damnit.

Pretty fair price. I'm a sparky and that would seem right in the ballpark. Nice to hear you're happy with the work they did. Not always the case when you get a "fair" price.

My neighbor was the Guinnea Pig...they moved the entire service for his house around the corner (he is getting ready to add on a third bedroom to his house) of one of the exterior walls and did a nice job before I ever thought of using them. I'll take some photos if I can ever get some time away from my day job prison cell.

so does it sound better?

Falken, long time no type, man. How are things in Gainesville? Well, as soon as the room is complete and I get it set up, I'll let you know how it sounds. This is a project from the ground up...except that I built it onto the back exterior of my detached garage wall.

gainesville? wow, I used to live in Gainesville when I was a kid.
good times.
