Has anyone any experience with the Rev5.
Are they low or high end gear.
And most importantly.......are they any good?

Peace........ChrisO

They rock hard bottom.

Most people only know the rev7 which you never wanna buy. The rev5 is a totally different machine in quality. It used to be compared with the Lexicon PCM series.

I'm not using mine for lead vocal reverd (I have a TC M3000 for that) but if I remember correctly their is not one recording that left my studio without the drums being more or little processed with the rev5. I have also a SPX990 and will trade it everyday with a rev5.

Buy it, and never sell it. This is one for the books.

Downside,

I have bought it! Now all I need is to get hold of a manual for it.

I believe Yamaha has pdf files of their manuals. Otherwise you have to contact Yamaha itself. It's useful to have the manual, there is a lot to learn from it.

May I ask what you paid for it?

I haven't found a pdf. for the Rev5 yet, and Yamaha Australia can't help, although I have found a company who can supply a photocopy (with Yamaha's blessing).

The unit came from the ABC (Aust. Broadcasting Commission's) studios and was bought at auction by a local audio company........I have bought it from them for $500 Aust (approx $250 US). Considering they were $3495 Aust., new, I feel quite happy with the purchase.
