Just wanted to throw out a question to the board. I am looking at buying a new used mixer for some television audio work and wanted to know which one of these two boards would be cleaner. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

This is a pretty tough question. The PM1800's weren't the cleanest boards out there. But then again, neither is the Soundcraft Delta stuff. My bet is that you will actually have quieter preamps and such with the Soundcraft, but personally I like the features and tone of the PM1800 better. Also, if I remember right the Delta series is not modular, so repairs would considerably more difficult than on the PM1800 which is modular. The Delta series of Soundcraft also seems to have pretty flaky power supplies. Then again the Delta series handles signal overloads a little more gracefully. Each board certainly has it's plusses and minuses.

For me, I would prefer the Yamah because I like the sound of the preamps, summing, and EQ's better than that specific model of Soundcraft. I also like the matrixing and routing options better as well as having more aux sends. It has been a long time since I have had to use a Soundcraft Delta series board though, so there is a chance I am not remembering everything, but I do have a lot of experience with the Yamaha PM1800. Just my 2 cents:)

WOW, This is the information that I wanted for this board, I knew that their are people out there that know more about this type of question then I do. Thank you xstatic for you valued input.
