Motif and Triton are great together if you have the flow. I chose the Motif for the actual keyboard use and sounds. I got the Triton rack for its sounds.

Those are definitely some great machines. I still have a Korg 01/W I bought years ago and I've still barely scratched the surface of it's capabilities. I'd love to have a Motif but I can't justify the cost right now. :(

My set-up; Roland D-50, Waldorf Micro Q, Korg O1/W, Yamaha RX5 drum machine.

I would like to correct myself, I am in the process of purchasing the Triton rack, peace

Overkill

Wow, It seems like such overkill to purchase both a Motif and a Triton Rack. I just can't see one offering so much more than the other. I think if you REALLY want the Triton sound, get a Karma. At least your getting some new features (arp features, combies, etc.). That or get a VA or something that will add, not duplicate. I've often thought what do I need to go with my Motif and I've decided on:

1) Motif 8
2) Korg Karma
3) Alessis Andromeda or Nord Lead 3

Karma

I've been looking for info and mp3-demos of as well the Triton, Karma and the Motif, so i found quite a lot user-reviews, the extra functionality of the Karma (or, let me say, the K.A.R.M.A., in other words, the 'arpeg-thing') - so i've read - is getting in your way after a while (not my opinion, just the opinion of two users of it) - so it doesn't have to be a good thing :) The basic point is that (cliche, cliche) you can't ask anyone which synth is better, because you will get a lot of different answers, and it only makes you more confused :) I'm going for the Motif 7 now, at least, that's what i've decided right now... it meight be different tomorrow :)

I've found a really good way to see how synths stack up and what people think about them is to check ebay and see how many are being sold, and how much they are going for in relation to how long they've been out and how much they came out for.
For example, there are a shit load of andromeda's for sale at an average of about 20% - 30% less than what they were sold for less than a year ago. As compared to a lead3 which are much harder to find for sale and normally fetch at least 80% of their original price and they've been out longer. What does that tell you?
