Yamaha Mixers

There's not much talk about Yammie mixers here. I'm intrested in the MG 12/4 mixer.
I'm trying to save a bit of money and go with Yamaha rather than Mackie, but I don't want to go Behringer.

Does anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with Yamaha mixers? Not specificaly the 12/4 model.
How are the preamps?

I have specifically the MG 12/4 and I can't believe how good it is for the money. One very happy user here. A search in The Rack forum will reveal other positive reviews. A search in www.soundonsound.com will find you an in depth review of the 16/4.

Same here - nothing but good things to say about my 12/4

I use a 10/2 for a talkback system - works great for that!

Blue Bear - I had always thought that large mixers, such as I presume you have in your studio, have built in talkback systems?

It does, but I often use open communication between the control room and multiple rooms via live mics which I handle via the mini-yammie....
