Yamaha MG Pre amps vs. DMP3 & VTB-1

I was just wondering if the quality of the Yamaha MG series pre-amps are of similar quality to the Audio Buddy DMP3, and the VTB-1. . . ? If mixing with a Yamaha MG12/4, . . would it be considered an upgrade to purchase one of these mic pres, or is it just a waste of money

Either should be superior.

Keep in mind there's usually some correlation between cost and performance with pre's. The ones in the Yamaha are probably a buck or less in parts cost.
