Yamaha HS80M room size

Hey guys. Looking for a bit of help with a question on monitors.
I can get myself a cheap NEW set of the Yamaha HS80M's and was wondering would the room size i'm in really waste my time with the bigger speakers, and would i just be better off getting the smaller HS50m's?
Because some guy tried to explain to me before the size of the room might not bring out the best of the monitors.
The dimensions of the place where i mix is about 8 x 10 x 8

Room size in and of itself should not play any consideration in your speaker selection other than whether there is the physical room to fit them.

The better the monitors the better u will benefit from yo studio. the room big or small dont matter on wat kind of monitor to get.

In small rooms you need to treat your room very good with acoustic treatments. Its very very important for small rooms. Your going to have allot of frequency build up and room treatment is needed
