Yamaha HS8

Just an update the HS8's I ordered a couple days ago arrived today. Some people were a little worried about them being restock. The boxes didn't even appear to have been opened before and the items inside are flawless.

So they are regular $349 on the internet (it says MSRP $499 but they can be found at $349 all day). I paid $228 a speaker which is slightly less than the discontinued HS80 model that they are selling right now.

They sound amazing
 
I've had a pair for a little over a week. I had a pair of HS-5s with my KRK 10S sub and decided to trade them before the 30 days at GC for the HS-8s and I'm glad I did. They're a huge step up. You got a real good deal on them. I didn't have that luxury. My old speakers blew out and I needed a new pair right away because I had to get a project done for a client and the 5's got the job done. I'm much happier with the 8s. Good choice.
 
I am very happy with them so far. They sound great. Plenty of low end and the highs are great too.
 
I finally got to "demo" (if one calls listening to them in an untreated room) at GS yesterday. Interesting to note is they were setup with 10 other models but were the loudest. I had to turn them down to compare to any others. I'm a little concerned as they made all the songs sound great as if they were hi-fi speakers. Definitely the clearest of the bunch.
