I've had the little Yamaha FX500 since it came out in the late 80's (I think). My brother -in-law located & bought me an FX900 rack mount unti earlier this year.
Most of the presets are completely different to the 500 but most of the operation is the same except for the availability of stereo in & a dial for selecting presets.
In common with the 500 the distortion is pretty poor but the combo of compression, dlay, reverb & modulation makes some great sounds.
I learnt with the 500 to turn off final reverb for recording &, now with the luxury of a multiple track recorder, to record the stereo effect rather than reducing it to mono.
Has anyone else any experience with these machines?
