yamaha emx 860 question

does the yamaha emx 860 st really have phantom power ...??
if so why can't i hear my Condenser MIC!!!

i have a MXL 990 condenser connected to the mixer with a XML to 1/4" jack (i also have an XML adapter for the jack if needed)

i can't hear any sound from the mic ... somebody please help me!

I don't know if it does or not, but you don't get phantom power from a 1/4" jack anyway.

what if i have an adapter though ... would that even help? ... or should i just get regular mic cables?

If the 1/4" plug is TRS (like a headphone cable, two black plastic rings so the plug has three sections) it will probably work with an adapter. But an actual mic cable would be better, no chance of shorting anything.
