i've searched the site, but i can't really find anything to help me. my friend is teaching me how to use it, but i totally can't follow. he's way too fast, as in he's really good at it. he's having a hard time teaching me because he admits he's a bad teacher.

now my question, can anyone recommend a site where i can learn how to use everything with the DM2000. mixing is no problem, but something where i can learn all the basics. analog is a bit easier, because it's all right there, but the digital one is tough to use. i get a head ache looking at it!

welcome to the board jarik.
like any piece of equipment there is a learning curve.
dont know if this helps much , but i would peruse yamaha's own site
for tips and hints.....as well as use google search engine to see what i could pick up on the internet. maybe also an email to yamaha support perhaps ?
seeing if they any any more tips than are in the manual ?
welcome.

thanks, i like this forum so far. honestly, i'm really new to this whole sound thing. i'm picking up pretty fast though. i'm just working as a front of house assistant.

this is just a stab in the dark. you guys know winamp right? is there any other software that would come close to a sound board? you know, a bigger EQ, adjusting low mids, high mids, etc etc.

well, my buddy just told me just to keep on playing with the board by messing up and picking up from your mistakes.

what are you looking for ?? could you specifically list the features in software you need ? are you saying you want a screen display on the pc that lets you record and mix (and create) songs ? with an on screen mixer that looks like a mixing console ? winamp just plays mp3's.

The DM2000 shouldn't be a whole lot different than the O2R in it's interface. I have put in thousands of mixing hours on the O2R.

Tell you what, if you start putting capital letter where they belong, and if you can get manning1 to do the same, I will explain ANY specific question you have about running that mixer!

Deal?

The reason why I ask this is because I get a headache trying to read posts by both of you guys. There is nothing to break up the sentences. And also, I can't take anybody seriously when they display such a disregard towards effective communication.

Blimey - that's twice today I've agreed with him.. Maybe I don't hate him after all

Heh.....:) I am like a fungus. I grow on you!

Yum!

It says I have to leave a longer message than that, so here's me making it at least 10 characters:

the search button, which is now thank god searching again... is your best tool for getting some Qs Aed. if you need more post again with specifics

actually i found something at church that can really help me. it's a whole manual for it. it's really easy to read and all, basically so that anyone can understand it. thanks anyway guys. i found all of the software needed and i'm cool now.

the DM2000 is suppose to make your life easier, but only until you figure the whole thing out.

I doubt there are many around here that have mixed on the Yamaha DM2000 (I haven't yet), nor a Yamaha O2R (I have WAY too many hours on this console...:()! Search will do little to help.

My offer still stands! :D
