Hey kids,
I finally got the Yamaha DG Stomp I have been checking out for a while and have had a couple days to play with it. It's pretty sweet. I'm still exploring the sounds, but I spent a bit of time today working on recording, just finding out what it could do.
I recorded three short (one minute each or so) tunes, just looking for different sounds. Anyway, they came out pretty well. All the guitars and bass were recorded through the Stomp. I didn't spend too much time tweaking for the bass, and the mixes might need a bit of work, but overall they should sound decent.
You can download them here:
Driveway Share (hope that works...
)
There are 3 individual mp3's up, or you can also download the "sampler," which is all 3 tunes back to back (with a Beatles sample thrown in for authenticity
). "Ten Years Before" sounds similar to "Love to Change the World." "Big Guitar" is a rock groove. "MellonCollie" is just an unusual groove - almost a slow trip-hop feel (maybe.. I don't know).
Anyway... there's a pretty wide range of sounds there, and they're in the context of a mix (which I think is a good thing), but you can still hear the sounds pretty well.
Didn't know if anyone would be interested or not, but I figured I'd put them up. Feel free to flame me for not taking it to the MP3 Mixing Clinic.
