hey fellows, I'm looking at a Yamaha G130A classical. The best I can find is that it was made from 1971 to 1973, in Taiwan. Maybe retailing then around 120.00. Does anyone have one or know any more than this? I did find a Yamaha dating thingy, but the serial No. says not valid.

I don't believe Yamaha had any guitars made in Taiwan in the seventies. A "not valid" serial number probably means it's a knock-off. Anyway, what's the selling price now? How's the tone?

I know nothing. he he he he, but, it is a Yammy, and has made in Taiwan on the back of the headstock. I did a little research a few minutes ago. 70s and earlier were Japan, and then they went to Taiwan after that. some site had a dude that has a 130 from japan and said it's a 69. the yammy date thing did say some serial numbers would be invalid, due to the fact that they repeated numbers after 10 years. that's strange. my pal David, who has it, dabbles in used stuff, and more or less verified the japan and taiwan deal as well as the dates. he says it's either 71 or 72. it has some beautifull tiger looking wood on the 2 pc. back, and a solid spruce top. black binding everywhere. I just finished recording it a little to see how it sounded mic'ed, and man, I like it. anyway, he wants 85.00 for it.
