Yamaha boards

hey guys,
My girlfriend's dad offered to give me a Yamaha board from his vocal studio that he didn't need anymore. It's either a 24 or 32 channel, he wasn't sure. What are your guys' thoughts on Yamaha boards? are the pre's good? any reviews? I'm not sure of the model i'm checking it out monday. is it worth taking?
