I spent 9 hrs yesterday w the aw16...
Its awesome.
Not very hard to use at ALLL..
Recorded some sick drum tracks and learned abot the dyn, sp, eff, and eq, and how to apply them.
Im blown away by how easy it to use.
set my inputs up in about 30 secs...super easy.
The very first thing i recorded sounded better than almost all the analog shit Ive done lately.

Ill try again there Creamed Whore Nut.

can you post any samples of the stuff youve recorded? i have a br-8 and want to kick up to a 16 track and not sure which company t go with:korg, yamaha, or akai....are you jsut using all the pres and effects in the recorder or do you use outboard rack effects too? and what mics did you use? and just wanna know how good the recorder actually is, like for high quality demo use. thanks alot guys this is informative

i will post something very soon....I have a ballad done already.
This machine is amazing....I sound like a million bucks.....or at least $150.00 anyway.

I cant believe the quality.
Its astounding.
Its also so f'in easy to use that its comical really.
I cant say enough.

Im using a small mackie mixer on most inputs, the gtr effects are cool, but not alone, they need some help....some are okay, but most need another pre amp source or an effects box or whatever.

You can absolutely record an insane demo on this unit. And the cost of the unit will be less than studio time unless you know someone.
I wouldnt say you could do a demo w JUST the AW alone.
But w very minimal additional equipment you can get a sound thats equal to or better than any local studio you would spend money at. I know this from first hand experience.....This is the answer.I have like 6 outboard effects, all low cost, the mixer, thats it, well some cool mics too.
I record evrything from hard rock to hip hop to blooz and so far I cant find a single fault w this siab.
I highly reccomend it.

are you just using the recorder, all the effects too? nothing like outbaord pres or anything

very minimal.....I dont even own a gtr amp at the moment.
I recorded a 12 string acoustic tune thats incredible.
Im preamping my gtr w a behringer virtualizer,

yeah here goes all the anti-behriger freaks I can hear em now.

anyway.....I dont have much for other gear, and Im sounding killer.
The ability to mix a track and eq it after youve recorded is really nice. And this eq really works....and its exactly like a rack effect in its ease of use.

you will need a mixing board and gates and compressor for drum recordings....i tried going straight in w no luck.
But through my board first, KILLERDRUMSOUNDS!!!!!
