what would you guys go for as the best for its price? mackies are more to my liking but i havent heard the yamahas .:confused::confused::confused::confused:

and also , vocals. blue or AKG ?:confused:

:)

You must 'try' them.

Find a studio or facility near you that has them and check it out. AND for hiphop, soul, rap, etc., you will need a sub.

Cheers,
John

I have tried both and I went with the Yammies. I thought they were more crisp and clear and the Mackies just seemed to sound muddy to me.

But it would be BEST if you were to listen to them. I will tell you, without a sub, you might find the the Mackies better with pop/hip hop because the Yammies just might sound a little shrill on their own.

yeah i heard . Mackie do have more bump . But maybe a bigger sized speaker would be better

NOTE: when choosing a speaker, consider the total weight of the unit. Believe it or not, heavier is much better. You can sort quite a few like that very quickly. They are usually better damped and braced - reducing internal resonances for lower distortion and accuracy... whereas the 'cheap' stuff will usually emphasize Bass boost.. or something of that sort, borrowed from the 'stereo' market. - AND they make them light on purpose.. not a good idea.
