does anyone have a diagram or link to one for the wiring of a Y cable?

1 TRS into 2 TS??

thanks,
T

What type of cable are you looking to make? An "Insert" cable, where you need two separate signals from the TRS end to go to each TS end, or are you looking to take a single TRS source (balanced), and make that signal appear as unbalanced to each TS?

It may be more complicated when you're trying to make a TRS balanced connection, because some have internal line resistors( god only knows why, you might not need em) but for a TRS to 2xTS its pretty simple.

I doubt you will find a diagram for something like that, but the sleeve is ground, ring is negative and tip is positive.

The right TS is GND/Positive and left TS is GND/Negative.

Then connect the TS and TS ground to a common TRS ground.

This is a simple split.

Okay, quicky diagram of an insert cable...so forgive the sloppiness.

Usually for "insert" purposes, the tip is send, and the ring is return. You must use shielded cable for this.

Insert Diagram for TRS to 2x XLR?

Hello,
I am trying to make a TRS to 2 XLR (male and female) for my dbx gates that only have xlr ins and outs. Should I just use the hot pin on the xlr or what? I'm confused. If anybody has a diagram, that would help me out.

Thanks!
