XP users...

I've been looking at a lot of "tweaks" lately for XP, and was wondering if and/or what tweaks everyone else was using.www.blackviper.com has a s**t-load of them. They seem to be everywhere once you start looking...

Of course I have NO idea which ones are "safe" and which ones are questionable... Anyone have any trial and error stories, or trial and success stories with these?

Well, so far in my experience with XP, it's the first Windows operating system that works great and is stable for music right out of the box, with no tweaks whatsoever. However, annoyances.org has a list of things you can do, and some of them have gotten me a little bit streamlined.

Hi, I have XP home and it worked fine out of the box. I did however follow the advice in link below, and everything is still great.

Imho turning off the fisher price XP look is tweak #1 and the most effiecient one.

#2 turn off services you don't need (blkviper's site for that)

#3 only put music software on your deidcated music setup

Works for me.

Lots of general tweaks via www.winxpnews.com if you look through their back issues.

Lots of good tweak via Maximum PC magazine too - but they don't put content on their web site.
