X1832usb problem

Hello all. Ive recently purchased a behringer x1832usb and it seems my HP laptop running win7 cannot recognize my mixer. Ive read through these forums and others hoping to find the solution only to no avail. I use Magix music maker 2013 premium. No options for my mixer in the settings there as well. My mixer is only displayed as an Audio codec in windows sound options. And nothing at all in Magix. Ive even tried all the driver downloads from behringer to no avail as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for looking into this matter for me in advance.

I'm not familiar with Magix, but have you tried disabling your built in sound card (just in case) and using ASIO4All?

Have you downloaded/installed the Windows drivers from Behringer?

It is quite possible that Win7 will show the mixer as a microphone.

I agree about disabling the system sound card since then the only audio device left must be the mixer!

If indeed the mixer is seen as a mic you will probably have to dig into the W7 sound menu and turn the level down, quite a lot in fact otherwise the whole system is too sensitive and noise artifacts intrude. All this is a consequence of Msoft not the mixer designers since my very excellent A&H ZED10 had to be so adjusted.

Mind you, Behringer COULD give a word or twenty about installation! The manual is total poo!
