hey guys i'm just wondering if you guys tend to reverse the phase of a channel when doing x/y miking. the diaphrams are so close that phase shouldn't be that much of an issue, right? i've seen it done w/ and w/o a change of phase in the studio. what do you guys think?

Yo freeform- the whole point of coincedent stereo recording is to cause the sound to reach both capsules at the same time. Phase issues should never occur unless you're doing something wrong.-Richie

Correct. The whole point is to put the diaphrams close together so all sound arrives at both diaphrams at about the same time thereby eliminating phase issues.
