Christmas Eve for the Homeless -

IMO the best tune you've ever done. Hits a subject near to my heart. The Christmas-song musical quotes tucked into it are brilliant.

thanks dodgeaspen and xlr for giving it an ear. The homeless is a subject close to my heart too. I was homeless one christmas. It was the loneliest feeling I have felt to date. It was just me, my guitar and harps, under the stars in Ca. Luckily I had enough skills to get out of that life pretty quick. I did learn that you go nuts real quick being homeless. Living in Ca and Tx for 24 years, you see tons of homeless people due to the warm weather. Here in Ohio it is a more rare occurance, but when I see one, I really feel it. You will literally freeze to death here.

Ya know, when I heard that song I figured you couldn't have sung it if you hadn't been.

XLR: The hard times are our greatest gifts once we get through them. I am thankful for that. All of my songs come from some sort of experience I had at some time. These experiences often are the whole song, but sometimes springboard me into the times of others who I have never met, but am somehow able to connect with while singing. I am right there with them. This is the addicting part of doing everything spontaneously. For me, it is a high that when compared to doing music the normal way, is a very flat experience. Kind of like food without any taste. This is why I would never go the tradional route, regardless of the finacial/fame factor. Walter
