wurlitzer trouble

I have a Wurlitzer 200a and it's been fine until now. All of a sudden it's gone weird. When I turn it on it makes a weird synthy hum - kind of goes between noise and hum and changes pitch a bit. It still works other than that noise. Anyone know what is causing this?

sounds like capacitors are going bad. Electrolytics only have a life span of 20 years or so

How sure are you about that? I think I can fix it all myself if that's the case.

That would be my guess too --- failing capacitors.

It's almost impossible to acurately diagnose this kind of problem on a BBS. We can offer opinions and suggestions, but don't base a repair of any kind on our advice.

Take it to a qualified repair shop.
