Looking to buy this condenser mic! preferably with a pop filter, and shockmount.

I've got one--it's a couple years old, but like new; I hardly ever used it. I've got a shock mount, but not a pop filter for it (I've always bought those separately--they're cheap enough). I'm pretty sure I've even got the case that it came in.

It's yours free if you want it. PM me your address.

I got a bunch. How many do you need? What about other types of microphones?

If i just offered to pay for one, why in the world would you give it for free?

A) Because I'm a nice guy.

B) Because folks have done similar things for me, and I like to pay it forward.

C) Because when I was just getting into this, it was the first condenser mic I ever bought. (I actually bought 4--I've given 2 others away, and still have two). It served me well, but briefly, because I upgraded to other mics fairly quickly. So it's been sitting for a long time. I figure you're just starting out, and I like to encourage folks in this recording racket, so I'd rather the mic go to a new home where it will get used. And call me crazy, but I don't want your money! :)

D) All of the above.

What do you think the answer is?

I don't think that you should give it away unless the person signs an affidavit stating that the mic will not be used for rap, hip hop, or country music.

UPDATE:

To the two users I'm giving the 990's (sk8a123 & shortedaman)--sorry it's taken so long, but last week was crazy. I just got back from the Post Office and they're finally on the way.

Heads up though--when I was digging out the cases and the shockmounts, I discovered why I still had these two (I used to have 4, but had already given 2 away). With one of these, I had the MXL shockmount, but only the basket/web part--the thumbscrew and mic stand attachment piece (what's that called anyway??) is missing. With the other one, I couldn't find the shockmount at all--so I found another one that fits, but it's black instead of gold--and the thumbscrew is stripped.

I don't know which one went into which box, so one of you is getting the right colored shockmount, but missing some hardware; the other's getting a wrong colored shockmount with a stripped screw.

On the stripped screw: this happens to me all the time and I just put in a screw and nut, set the angle of the mic where I want it, then crank it down with a screwdriver. On the one with missing hardware--maybe you can post back here when you get it, and see if someone else here has some hardware laying around.

Sorry 'bout the shockmounts but I figure a) if I was selling 'em, I'd have dealt with it, but I since it's a gift, you probably won't mind, huh? b) maybe someone else will piggyback on my gesture and help get you the rest of the way there; and c) it was taking me long enough as it was--you probably just wanted to get the mics so you could get on with it!

Have fun and happy recording!
