Hey all,

I'm interested in buying a reverb/effects unit to pipe a bit of reverb and delay to my headphones while tracking vocals. Therefore, it doesn't have to be of stellar quality, but I don't want totally cheap rubbish - who knows what I might use it for later.

I've been looking at the lexicon mpx100, Tc m-one, Alesis microverb 4. If anyone in the UK has something of this ilk lying around for a good price, please let me know.

Thanks very much,

Matt.

Of your list that you have provided Matt. I would go with the TC M-one without a moments hesitation.

Hey Henry, thanks for your response! I've actually picked up a Midiverb 4 from evilbay for a decent price. The Tc m-one goes for more than double that, so I may upgrade later if I feel the need. As it's just for tracking, I think the Alesis wil do the job for now.

I have the MV 4, my first box, and I still think it holds up well even on certain mix tracks. Congratulations.

Thanks mate. I'm a bit excited about my first box! I've put in an offer to someone on a Tc m-one as well, which will be a bargain if accepted (I read a review and couldn't resist - I love gadgets and boxes with lights and buttons on!).

You know, you can make a pretty decent reverb on the cheap out of an old guitar amp spring 'verb. Takes like 30 mins and shouldn't cost more than about $50, tank included.

Hey Deep,
I have a microverb 3 and a quadraverb lying here.

The micro uses a generic power supply, but the quadraverb has some stupid 4 pin connector. I don't have the PSU for it.
I did have though (sold it with a quadraverb 2), so I know that the unit works.
(If you're very keen, a bastardised midi cable will physically fit, and the supply is 9v av, so it'd be an easy DIY one for ya)

Any interest?
There's a 3630 here too if you're really looking for trouble. :p

Hey Steen. Thanks for your reply, mate. Unfortunately, I already bought a Midiverb 4 last week. Having tried it out, I found the quality a little lacking, so immediately upgraded to a Tc m one, which should arrive ths week. So, I'll probably be offloading a Midiverb 4 next week once I've compared them!

I don't know what a 3630 is, so I probably don't need one!

Glad that you went with the M-one. You'll be very happy with it.
Most of the factory presets are great but can be changed very easily - My favorite preset is *Big toms and snare*.

Paul has that 3630 up for sale ..... it is a compressor/gate.

Shame I missed you Johnny.
Ah well, I hope it works out well for you.

Thanks for getting back.
