Wow I am confused bout makin beats

Wow I am confused about making beats. I looked at another thread on this forum and everybody was listing all of their equitment. I guess the reason I am confused is I have made all of my beats with fruity loops. I know this isnt very professional. I want to go a different way with making beats because this is getting old. I am getting tierd of the fl interface and the lack of debth that it offers. I have come to this forum because I know how helpful you guys are and how you are willing to saccrifice your time to help others. So what I basicly want is a rundown on how you guys make beats. If you use software (which software you use) or if you use hardware and how you use it and if its hard or not. I am confused I have done all of my stuff with computer programs and I am getting tierd of fl. I want something more professional. Thanks for your time!! Please explain everything thoroughly because I am clueless in this area thanks

don't beat yourself down!

professional = your main gig.

if this isn't your day to day, don't sweat it.
9th Wonder did The Black Album's (jay-Z) "Threat" in Fruity Loops.
Don't let the name of the program throw you (it's bad, we all know that)
It's quite powerful.

There are plenty of OTHER threads that deal with who uses what and how.
Don't start a new one!
Also, find the people who use fruity loops and pm them and ask them if they've upgraded, why or why not.
You might be surprised by the responses and lose that desire for "professional" equipment.

Most of us aren't professionals at this yet.
