Would you buy a Korg WavestationSR if you have a M1 already?

Never Act Like U Know All
The wavestation series - my understanding is that they create awesome pads. My M1 Rack makes awesome pads, bells, etc.

I havent played with the Wavestation series at all. The SR combines the A/D with the EX for one powerful synth.

But is there a difference between the sounds of the M1 and the Wavestation?

I was going to suggest the Wavestation SR in your other "wife" thread. The Wavestation is very different than the M1. I have both and the Wavestation is still one of my favorite synths.

Tell your wife that I said the Wavestation has different sounds and does a differnet type of synthesis than the M1.

Wavesequencing can make a very complex sound. That an M1 couldn't touch. Go for it.

Not to mention that the SR is multitimberal. try running 10 instances of legacy at once

There is something to be said for owning the hardware itself.

You have to ask yourself if Leonardo Divinci would use adobe photoshop to paint if he was still alive today ? or would he use a paintbrush and oils ?

:D

Thanks guys for the good replies. I value others opinions on stuff that I dont know.

I PROMISE YOU that I will never get into the soft wynth thing. I'll take up basket weaving first If I have to use a soft synth.

I've played with them, and there is something to be said for pressing buttons. I do have the M1 and love it. I am a mad scientist I suppose when it comes.

Yeah, know this guy selling a Wavestation SR for 300 bucks. I think I'm gonna get it.

Your loss...

$300 is too high for a Wavestation SR. I bought my second one for $175--I have two SR's and the EX keyboard version. Guess you could say I like the Wavestation!

Anyway, you really shouldn't pay more than $200-225 for an SR these days.
