workstation vs DAW. any suggestions?

hey guys,

how would everyone compare the yamaha aw4416 to a DAW for qaulity? i have a delta 1010 and a alesis 32 board that jsut arent cutting it for me. is the converters in the aw4416 comparable to the delta or other semi-professional break out boxes? i realize the yamaha limits yout o 16 tracks, but besides that, what other the other cons and pros of switching? the yamaha jsut seems more practical in its use, and more convenient for its size. the alesis board serves not much more than an expensive patch bay routing my stuff to my delta, which seems kind of like a waste to me. any ideas?

I have tried both, and use a Akia DPS16. If I want, I can go to pc from the 16, but I haven't needed to yet and don't see the need. I can do all my editing right on the 16 and see what I'm doing. The screen isn't as big as a monitor of course, but big enough. It's whatever your more at ease with.
