This is a studio track I have been working on. I posted a live to 2-track song a few weeks ago of this band. This is one of their down tempo songs. Tell me what you think.

Excellent separation between the insturments and between the vocals. The snare is not my favorite tone - could use more bottom - but that's just my taste. Not getting any kik on my PC speakers. This doesn't sound live to 2 track - this is a studio multitrack right? Other than my personal nits on drums this is an excellent recording of a great song by some great players....where's your studio and what's your rate?

I agree with the drums. I am stuck with the drum mix because I only have 8 tracks to work with and mixed the drums to 2 tracks to make room for everything else. The snare is a piccolo so there wasn't much body to the sound. The kick is there, the striker hit is just a bit buried. I like my kick drum much better. You can hear it in the live to 2-track song.
My studio is in Manchester, TN. I am just getting started after accumulating various pieces of equipment over the past 15 years I am charging per song till I get the hang of working with bands. I gave this band a bit of a price break since they are my science experiment of sorts. They are also helping to promote me. I have another band coming in this November and I am charging them $100 per song. Hope they are not getting ripped off. I am reinvesting what I make for the time being. New mixing board is next!!
