If I were to get a A/D converter to use the two extra tracks of S/PDIF on my Delta 1010, do I have to worry about using a word clock. I have an old DAT payer that I use as a converter but it only does 16 bit so I want to upgrade. When I use the DAT i set the word clock on the 1010 to S/PDIF in, so do all A/D converters have a word clock in it, or does it just depend on which one I get? Also, what are some recommendations? I was looking at the ART DI/O, it's cheap and so am I.
Another question: I am also looking at the Lexicon MPX 110 or 200. They have 24 bit converters in it and i would be able to use them as A/D converters dry, and also have the effects if i wanted it. What do you guys think of this, because I was looking to get an effects processor down the road. I am pretty poor and don't need the quality of $2000 reverb or anything like that.
Thanks for the help.......Josh
