well its not exactly new, its a roland vs 1680. the song is a bit sloppy because we are still learning the song...but i had to bring the board to practice and give it a wirl. its just my 2 guitarists and myself on drums.
I had 6 58s....one in the kick, snare, in between the 2 racks and one on the floor...then one on each guitar cab facing away from the drums. recorded it live on the roland and brought it home. put eack track seperate on cool edit pro and gave it a little mix. i hav the rack toms panned left and the floor panned right. snare, kick in the middle and each guitar panned l & r.
if i were to get another mic and mic each rack how would the panning go?? would i pan the second rack middle? thanks guys for any advice you have on the mix!!!

i'm listening on a co-worker's laptop, so take this with a grain of salt... for my money, the snare is a TOUCH too loud and kind of alone out there in the front of the mix, and i feel like the guitars could likewise be a hair louder, or at least maybe a little more presence in the mids. turn 'em up too much and they'll get trebley. i know i'm listening on laptop speakers, but if the mix is right then it shouldn't matter. otherwise, sounds good, the kick especially feels and sounds perfect.
