hi all, i am running windows 2000 pro and i just installed a crappy soundblaster audigy card and was wondering where i can get wmd drivers for it. also does anyone know if just turning the onboard sound off in device manager is enough to not cause conflict or do i have to do it in bios, i tried bios but couldnt find anything pertaining to sound so im not sure. also im running a pentium 4 2.0ghz, im not sure if that matters or not. any help would be great and thanks ahead of time. tim

http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/ for WDM-drivers.

Turning the onboard soundcard off in the device manager will probably be enough. Whether it's possible in the bios or not (preferable), doublecheck your motherboard manual.

If you installed it on Windows 2000 you undoubtedly already have WDM drivers for it.

But the kX Project drivers christiaan pointed you to are probably a better bet.

audigy

Creative has some updates on their product drivers. You may look into them. But as they pointed out KX drivers are better than the original SB ones.

has anyone had any problems with them?
it also says not compatible with some games and my daughter plays a few games on my pc will there still be sound?
thanks guys. tim

I've had no problems with the kx drivers. In fact I have a soundblaster live + KX running side-by-side with my Delta 410 soundcard (experimenting with soundfonts and the sblive card has midi i/o). Works just fine.
Will there still be sound when your daughter plays her games? Depends on 'some' games.
Just try it. With the occasional game that I've played while I only had my sblive, I encountered no problems.
