Witch imput in the preamp

Hi everybody...i'm new , i apologize for my english.
I'd like to ask you where i can put my jack coming from my layla and going in the preamp.
The signal coming out for my soundcard is +4dbu and the imput in the preamplifier are three: Mic, guitar, line...in witch imput i've to put the jack?

I know that i've to go from the preamp to my soundcard , but after, if i want to use a channel strip (in a channel strip there's a preamp too) where i've to put my jack? line (siganl from keyboard, expanders etc..) or guitar imput?

By Channel Strip do you mean you are going into a Mixer??

If so, plug into the Line In port. The signal coming out from your sound card should be a line level signal.

By channel strip i mean the voicemaster pro ( focusrite) but i think even for mixer or everything is a channel strip.
So i always have to put a balanced or balanced signal, that coming out from my sound card, in a line level input?
