Saw an ad in the paper for "old 50's microphones, 40-200 dollars". I called up and spoke to a little old lady who said her husband was a performer and he collected microphones and that she'd have to go dig the box out of storage to see what the models were. She said "old Shure ball-type" microphones and some AKG stuff. She'll call me back.

Maybe there's some good stuff in there, eh?

Look at it this way; even if the microphone is a dud, you might at least get a chance to score with the old lady. It's probably been a while, so she'd probably be very grateful. Might even let you keep the mic as a token of her appreciation if you know what I mean. Good luck.

Make sure to check her EKG periodically whilst you're taxin' that prunetang. Then you can move on to the AKGs. :eek:

Also make sure you discharge any static electricity you built up rubbing against that cordoroy hide before you handle the mics.
