Can any1 tell me what's a good software for looping the strings and the pads so that they don't "clip"... this really is a problem. I never seem to get it right.
I just zoom in on the waveform in Cool Edit Pro , and make sure the very start and the very end of the wave form are at 0db. I think the sound you are referring to is not actually clipping, but is caused by your speaker trying to follow the waveform when it jumps from one position to another drastically.
reloop by propellerhead claims to be able to do it, but usually it's a matter of ear and cool edit pro...
I could also suggest you buy some sample cd's where the loop points are allready made...
Thanks for the replies guys. Maybe I'll just play the strings with my synth through the whole song. It's going to be a a one hell of a wave, but I am a little perfectionist. It won't increase the final song size since I record it again before mastering.
I use ProTools LE and it lets me do a little crossfade between the regions which eliminates the digital click. Maybe you are able to do this too? The crossfade is so quick that you really can't hear it.

You'll find that PTLE only works with the DIGI001 hardware (but in my opinion it's worth buying). There was a cracked version floating around at one stage but I realy don't know where you would get it these days.
