wiring question

I need a 1/4" input in the tracking room that leads to a 1/4" input in the control room so I can plug in gtr/bass, etc. in the control room to an amp in the tracking room.
Can I do this without killing the signal with such a long run of cable. If so, how ( and should I use balanced cable or unbalance, and should the connections be TS or TRS )?????

how long is the cbale run? chances are it's not long enough to really affect the signal.

fairly long ( over 30 feet ).

..and unless your input to the amp is balanced, you wont be ablr to run balanced lines. You should have no problem doing this, althoug some HF loss may occur, but not enought to notice.

I may try the "one DI on each end" trick.
Wish I could build something with a transformer to do the trick.........dammit
