Wireneck Returns with more Melodic Metal

The snare sounds like someone tapping on the door with a stick.
The lead guitar is nice - lifts the whole thing up & out of the genre.
THe rhythm guitar sounds are generic at best.
the change has a classic Black Sabbath change feel to it you should keep the acoustic/picked sound further up with the electrics benhind it. The return isn't too good though not abrupt enough or smooth enough to work entirely.
Keep at it - I can hear good work.
Cheers

has tons of potential!!...but right now the drums are killing it....I do like the tune though.

Thanks for the listen/Comments guys.

RayCwhich acoustic guitar are you referring to? The one in the intro or the acoustic break at the end?

Brandrum the drums are mainly serving the purpose of a metrenome on this.

I like the way you change up to the acoustic part - nice.... Overall I enjoyed the whole thing......

I love the overall vibe....nice, epic feel to the tune. Great playing, as usual..... :D
Cool change to the acoustic sounds...very pretty. I think the acoustic could be brought up in volume some. I definiely don't have a problem with the tones....especially the lead....very nice. Good bass sound during that interlude....really fills it nicely.

Again, cool tune man.....

Drums are a bit thin in my opinion, but then again this is just a rough mix I'm sure. DKFHS right? The programming is very good. By the way, how's Soundclick treating you? The Burden of Existance tracks kick ass Wireneck.

It's hard to give any good feedback because all I have right now is my laptop speakers... The tune itself sounds good though. And that delayed lead tone sounds sweet. Also the acoustic sounds good. What mic did you use to record it?

It's like a guitar orchestra. My favorite parts are the phrases with the distant verby gtr (first at :52) doing lines over the deep-toned riffing gtr. The acoutic section has some very well written lines and the feedback is a good entrance for the electrics in the closing section. At the very beginning a half second of room sound, or even silence, would be good... it starts kind of abruptly.

After a few more listens, I really like the energy to this. I think it wil turn out way cool when done. :D

Ido1957 thanks for listening. We are a metal band but the thing we try and push the most is dynamics. Seems to work out most of the time.

Dogman thanks for the comments. Since we are instrumental we try and keep it interesting. Glad you dug the bass....that guy just joined the band in the last few months and hes turning out to be a great addition.

Fattmusiek Ill look into the drums. This is pretty much a pre-production demo but I'm trying to make it sound as good as I can. Its DKFH2, maybe I cut a little too much of the "ooomph" out of them. I find it alot easier to work with real drums, go figure haha.
No problems with Soundclick...glad you enjoyed "The Burden" Material. I've got some more stuff posted on www.myspace.com/theburdenofexistence . That project is on hold right now though.

MonkeyManx thanks for the positive comments. The acoustic was mic'd with an Oktave Mc012 into my Soundtracs Solo 24 console. Thats pretty much it, with a little natural verb from Cubase.

Tim good point about the intro silence. Im also glad our attempt at classical guitar didn't scare you off. Haha thanks for listening

Great playing / arranging as always. Really cool tune.
I like the sound of the guitars & bass, and I agree with some of the statements already made about the drums. Look forward to hearing a finished version!

I really like the change! Overall i really liked it, i'd like to hear it again when it's finished!

I agree with most of the comments above.

VERY nice acoustic bridge. Well written and fits nicely. Creative arrangement. Thumbs up man, keep it up!

Metalhead thanks for the listen. Still trying to work out some of the issues with the drums.

Jasonbird thanks alot man. I can't wait to hear it finished myself haha.

danny83 thanks for the positive comments. Glad you dug the more dynamic side of the material.

Updated mix has been posted, same link

I took a week off from this one and have been making some new adjustments to try and brighten/clear up some of the mud. If anyone has the time, please take another listen and let me know what you think.

Hey Wireneck,

I for one love the drum rolls you have in the beginning of the tune, the lead guitar is a lot more prominent in the mix, which I like.
The acoustic interlude is very sweet and well placed in the tune to break the song up and to emphasize the electric guitars as they re-enter!
Some nice guitar playing there especially just outside of the interlude.

Definitely a more brighter and livelier mix than the first attempt.

Thanx for sharing with us Wireneck!! :) :)
