I asked this question a few years ago and was advised to wait until the FCC ironed out what frequencies would be available for wireless mics.

I make most of my living playing derbakki (doumbek) for belly dancers in clubs and restaurants. For several years, I have been very successfully using the ATM Pro 70 as a mic on a clip that I have right to the drum rim and it sends out a terrific signal and it keeps me from having to play for a mic on a stand. I have a very long cord attached to the battery pack so that I can move a bit and follow the dancer as she's dancing to my drum solo, but the cord is awkward and could be dangerous if I tripped over it. I really like this mic and I own three of them (just in case) but now I'm interested in adapting this as a wireless. This never used to be that difficult when wireless first came out, but now I;m finding out that not all systems are compatible.

Some of the clubs I play in are downstairs in Manhattan and Brooklyn and I have heard that this presents other problems with transmission.

What are some recommendations? I don't have a lot of money, but I was hoping to get something for around $400 or less. Possible?
