Having a lot of trouble trying to find an affordable windshield for my Evolution e845s mic.

These guys do one but that is literally more than I paid for the mic (and the mic was new!)

So can anyone suggest a windshield that would fit the mic well? The only one I've been able to try is for an SM58 but it's a completely different shape.

Just to be clear, this is to fit OVER the existing mic and is not a replacement part.

That is the correct windshield.

But - there is a cheaper one available.

The Sennheiser MZW 1 is designed for the radiomics, but as they use the same heads as the wired mics it should fit perfectly.

The MZW 1 retails in the UK for £16.18 including VAT, which is about a third of the price of the one you linked to.

But - you do not normally need a foam windshield for a vocal mic. unless you are using it outdoors in the wind.

I hope this helps.

If the mic. was cheaper than this - is it genuine?

Or have you been landed with a fake from e-bay?

The very cheapest evolution wired mic. retails for £63.99 including VAT - so even if you bought it at a good discount it would still be more than the windshield you linked to. The cheapest I have seen the cheapest mic. is about £44, which is abut £7 more than the windshield you linked to. Anything less than this I would be very wary of (and that was for the e815, the cheapest of the series).

Yup just a regular old wind screen will do. A generic one here in the US cost less than $5. in fact closer to $3.

For us .us types. Although closed cell. But rarely more than $10 USD. Even at guitar center $7 would be pushing it.

It might help to know which wind noise (human breath or wrath of god). If just human breath, a good pop filter (or double pop filter) might do you. Another option might be technique, rest it on the chin and sing over it, instead of at it. if outdoors, well, you kind of have to go with foam or fake fur or other things.
