I record my band in the studio with a Yamaha MD8 minidisc. I mix all the tracks in to my PC (1.4g Athalon on an asus k-7 board 266mhz bus with 256mb 266ddr ram and 15.1gb quantum fireball through an emagic 2 channel card with emagic pro-audio somethin or other).
When I mix songs down a timer displays in the background with a 5minute timer. I believe this a windows window and not an emagic window. Why can I record for only 5minutes max? Does windows think I'm just recording a silly little voice wave?
Is there a way to disable this?
Or am I stuck with only 5minutes max, which sucks because now we actually have 2 songs that are over 5 minutes.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

p.s. check out www.mp3.com/god_fights_dirty
to hear my past efforts with my band.
Thanks

logic has it's own internal settings for you to set the maximum length of a song.

I can't remember where the option is, but it's there.

In logic, go to audio tab>then to set record path.
This window will allow you to change the amount of time for recording. This can be set to however much space you have left on your hardrive. The program will do the math for you based on your sample rate. As for windows, I dont know of anything that would interfere with logic, {maybe sound recorder} dump it...
When you record in logic a small window pops up with a progress bar that indicates how much time you have left....counting down.

wow, that was really easy.
really reall easy....
Thanks much.
