Hey,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to get windows 98 to recognize a second harddrive. I can't afford to buy a new, bigger hard drive so I have a 4gb that I have aquired and would like to use it as well as my 10gb. Now the 10gb is set to master drive and the 4gb is set to slave. The bios recognizes the 4gb as a slave drive, but I cannot access the drive from windows. Can someone give me some advice?

Thanks,
Henry

Can you even see the drive, but just not access it, or does it not even show up in 98? Could be a formatting issue, make sure the drive is formatted FAT32.

You'll have to excuse me, I thought I could be more helpful, but realized I haven't used 98 in years and years, and don't remember that much about it. :)

Start your computer in DOS-mode, type "fdisk" and format your second harddrive as FAT32. That should do it.

That could be by several factor... Lost your partition (can be by virus, etc...), need to be formated, or may be a physical damaged. Try to put the HD on friends computer first and see what's going on. Otherwise, you can use Partition Magic from Power Quest to see what's going on up there... then repair it. ;)
