Windows 7 and audio interfaces?

I am having trouble finding audio interfaces that are supported by Windows 7 x64. (64 bit)

Unfortunately, Windows 7 was the only option for my new lap top and I hadn't really considered recording up until recently (i've now owned the Toshiba Satellite a505-s9686 for 1 month). When I say recently, I mean 2 days ago. I have spent these last 2 days reading about recording, the basics, how to get things to work etc...

I have been recording in studios for quite some time now but I want to be able to do projects on my own.

So my question is has anyone found an interface that is compatible with Windows 7 64-bit ? And if you have, do you know of any recording software that currently supports W7 64 BIT?

I am mostly interested in the Mbox / Pro tools approach, but they are very vague on the time they will release drivers to fully support Windows 7.

[For those who will suggest reformatting to XP64 or VISTA64, toshiba offers no support for the older OS on newer models. I read through some forums and many users of the a505 family who revert to older OSes encounter plenty of errors including reduced audio quality, not what I'm looking for if i want to do my own music!]

I believe most of the M-Audio stuff works with 64. Some love it some hate it. I'd stay away from Presonus. I have their Audiobox interface and love it but no support for 64 so I dual boot Xp32.

Software will be much less of a problem. Its really more of a driver issue for hardware.

Vista 64-bit drivers should work just fine. You just have to run the driver installer in compatibilty mode for Vista. Works for my M-audio Delta.

I tried to install 32-bit Vista drivers on Win 7 32-bit for my FCA202 but no luck. Drivers per se were installed OK but no sound comes out 8(

BTW, UCA202 is a great card! Real steal for 30 bucks and works everywhere. Ultra-low latency in VSTi and great sound.

I have the Audiobox interface and it works fine on my laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

One thing you should try is going into the Windows sound control panel and make sure that output is not set default to outs 7/8. Windows did this when I installed my Delta 1010lt and I had to manually change it to "Delta Multichannel"

Thank you for the tip, but I have only one pair of outputs in FCA202. I`ve checked everything and googled it, and this problem seems to exist. Anyway, my new card works flawlessly, can`t complain.
