G'morning!

Toki987 - Hey thanks for checking it on a full system....I've only heard it on my monitors and in my truck. Concert huh? Sweet...haven't done one of those in about 3 years! I very much miss it!

Beezaboy - Thanks for the listen. Not into Soundgarden...but I'm not offended by it. I just don't think I've got much Seattle in me...And I'm pretty sure you won't hear this on national radio, it's just for the local boys to know I'm still alive and just taking a break from the reign deer games...

participant - I did do some compression to the whole track, though it didn't really need it. It won't be in the final mix, but it wasn't too too noticable on this so I left it this time around...good ear on that. The Aenima thing though I totally disagree with, but if that's what you're familiar with I can see the relation. I haven't heard the album in about 4 years, and I HATE the new album. I never listen to anything else when I'm "producing," though I know I should. But if this mix draws on anything, I'd say it's Mr. Bungle's first album. Tool has nothing to do with this....in fact this was written in 1992....about 4 years before Aenima. And the cab is not Marshall, but Fender. I'm not upset about Tool comparisons or anything...it should be a compliment, but it's just not accurate at all. They are much better and have Bob Ludwig behind them. I'm just Tom, and have no desire to sound like them. I prefer to sound more human.
Also I dropped the Buffalo Bill type thing because it was starting to freak even me out  You're a riot!
So when do we get to hear something new and original from you? Been a while hasn't it?

crawdad - Of course I'm serious...do I strike you as a non-serious person? :D

fenderlikinggood - damn indeed...thanks for the listen man!

Powerful tune, great wall- of-sound, plenty of dynamics...and so much going on. I hear lots of influences from 60's music to to-days alternative. You have done a fine job arranging many instruments and sounds with complex melodies and delivering a polished mix. It takes effort and experience to produce tunes like this, without leaving the listener fatigued.

Well done.

Well yeah... it's just the mix. And I'm very :o about calling that Fender a Marshall :o

Hell... the tone sounded "British" to me :p

just finished spinning this one again.. I really like this version a lot more than the previous.. I'm glad you took out the pitch shift in the beginning, and the other little tasties you added are great.. I normally forget to comment on your guitar playing because I always get caught up in the vocals, but you are a really good guitar player in addition..

whenever my buddy comes over, we burn one, and I play him your latest..

he just left..

and we burned 2 today during his visit :D

Take that bitch home my bro

This is a brilliant piece of music...Emotional,cynical,dark and f-ing rocking.Your style is well developed and now that I'm officially on line you'll be hearing alot from me,a true fan . And BTW "Look Away" is a great collab. The lyrics and those funky keys are f-in awsome in "winded",I've got it on continuos loop and it's rockin my face into pulp. The spoken word is erie and almost maniacal and if you need help hiding the body,I've got this great spot in Jersey...

I'm scared. I hope that's what you had in mind. he he he he he he

Great tunage. The guitar coming towards you right near the end of the spoken word part is great. Makes me want to strap on the old strat and crank it up, but I'm not allowed when people are home. he he he he he he

Thanks,

dtb

I heard the first one, and I think this is a bit better (assuming improvement was even possible). I blasted throught the other resopnses, but I didn't hear anyone comment on the bass. I thought it a nice "rumbling" sort of tone to it. It sounded cool. I won't spend too much time repeating everyone's comments about all the other great things about the song. I think they're all on target.

There was a spot or two where some harmony vocals didn't end their line exactly in sync with the melody line. I'm not sure if it's even worth mentioning. I could only tell because I was listening on headphones - and they're extremely small. But being the harmony nazi that I am, I thought I'd throw it in. :)

Was it a bad download or is there something weird going on at about 1:43? Seems like a little weirdness. Since noone else mentioned it, I'm wondering if it's just me.

Great job of production, really great sound. Please let us know how the radio airplay goes. I'm crossing my fingers for you.

Trip.

Looks like this has been brought back from the dead...

WISC and DTB- Thanks for the compliments...glad you were entertained :)

Trip- That bit at 1:43 is intentional...it's just synth breaking up. You'll notice nothing else was breaking up (especially if you were listening on phones). Also, the harmony at the end of the last chorus is off by almost second...haven't posted the update...
Good ears though bud...thanks!

I was checking this out and was thinking... 'ive heard this before'

Which I have because I listened to version 1.

I don't think I have V1 any more, but I don't like doing AB's of that type.

This mix is much better and the additives are great!

Rock on.

Ooooo I got one-starred...nice. Anyone care to tell me why it sucks so bad? Surely you've something to teach us all.

:)

very solid production........i really like the electric guitars.......some nice harmonies.........creepy whispering parts

good luck with the radio play.....let us know how it goes......
