Just a quick little note about something I noticed with the Win98 CD player. As some of you people probably know, you can add the title artist name as well as names of individual tracks so they show up in the application's window. Then whenever you put that CD in, the player "remembers" all the info you originally typed in (by some look-up list or pattern matching for you programmers out there)
Well - I did this for my own CD and last night, I wanted to add an extra track onto my CD as a b-day present for a friend. I went to my burning program, loaded in the CD layout and added the extra track. The original CD was 11 tracks. This "custom" CD was 12 tracks. It appeared that all of the 12 tracks were burned properly.
BUT (here's the kicker!) I put the CD (fresh
from the burner) in my CD-ROM drive and it shows up as my CD with only 11 tracks!!!! It refused to recognize the extra song at the end. I even went to explore the disc and there were only 11 CDA files. Thinking I goofed, I burned another one. Same thing!!! Now I had the brilliant ID to try it in my stereo, guess what - 12 tracks!!! The stupid Microsoft product must have seen that the first song matched what was in the database and thought that it was the regular 11 track CD. agggghhhhhh!!!!

Anyone else have an experience like this?
